Whats Going on in the Life of the Ward's
This Blog is the update's on what's happening in our life
I am a Mrs.... Happy New Year!!! I have sat down many times to write a update letter in the last six months, but there was just so much going on I did not even know where to start. The last update I sent out was in May and at the time I was traveling and ministering a lot and gearing up for our big 3 week 21 Project school that we did in July/Aug in Pasadena. Things and ministry where moving at a very fast pace and I had no idea that a month and a half later life as I had known it would change forever. In June I went to Southeast Alaska to see my family and then headed up North to Wasilla, Alaska to speak and help run a prayer and worship event called the Alaska Burn. During this time I connected with my long time friend of 14 years Phillip Ward. We usually touch base with each other every six months to a year to. This time we did the same, and the last night I was in town we grabbed dinner and he took me to the airport. That evening changed everything and in a moment something shifted in our hearts although we did not communicate it then. Over the next week we talked on the phone a lot as I was on the road again with ministry. He left for remote Alaska for two weeks and there was no communication, but right before he left we made it known that our friendship was heading into something more and we needed to hear the Lord on what was right. The next two weeks where a lot of praying and freaking out on my part as to what all of this was. It caught me by surprise more then anything has. I never saw this coming. Two weeks later we talked again and then a week after that on July 18, Phillip asked to pursue my heart for the rest of my life. He came to Pasadena for the second part of our 21 Project School and got to be around all my crew and passed all the tests of my bro’s and pappa’s. I went to Alaska to see him mid August and he asked me to marry him August 23rd. I still had committed ministry trips to go on after that, so I traveled through the fall and he was in Alaska working. Right before Thanksgiving he came down to Pasadena to prepare for the wedding and we where married December 6th in Pasadena!!! We went on a honeymoon to Mexico and Central Coast of California and now we are in Wasilla, Alaska for the holiday’s and most of the month of January. Talk about the wildest most amazing, longing fulfilled whirlwind of my life. The last update I was the most single woman around and now I am married! Suddenly’s really do happen. I am sure most of you have been tracking with me on social media and the update of being engaged I sent out. With that you would have seen our story. So not only am I married but I am also a step mother to Phillip’s 3 teenage children, Mekennah 18, Elijah 17 and Bob 16. I have known the kids most of their lives and even had all 3 of them for 2 weeks last summer for a camp in California. It is a real journey navigating through all that comes with their father getting married and me becoming a mom but the Lord has given us grace and continues to do so and I love them so very much. You can read our story on our wedding website www.phillipandamy.weddingwindow.com As you might imagine life has really changed for me. I was going full speed ahead with leading our YWAM plant in Pasadena, apart of bringing leadership to Circuit Riders, One Love, Brave: Love, Fire & Fragrance and other things while traveling a lot and speaking. I will still be doing a lot of that but things will be changing as I am a wife and mother, I am just not sure yet how all of that will look.
Right now we are in Wasilla, Alaska for 5 weeks. Phillip has had his own business in the area of general contracting, so he is trying to find work to do while we are here to get some finances for the move. I will be helping run a short leadership intensive school over two weekends here in Wasilla, while getting caught up on a lot of other work I have gotten behind on with everything going on. I will be helping with his boys as well in keeping them on track with homeschool and getting them ready for the move. If everything goes as planned the end of January Phillip and the boys will make the big move and drive down to California (I will probably fly). At this time we do not know where we will live. We need to find housing for a family. The Lord at this time has not made it clear if we will live in Pasadena or in Huntington Beach where we have our two teams. A lot depends on what the Lord opens up for us. Housing is very expensive. We will go right away to Kona where I will be teaching for a week and Phillip and the boys will get to be around our Kona community and welcomed into the YWAM family. Our daughter Mekennah will be doing a Fire & Fragrance DTS in Kona at the same time, so the family will all be together. Phillip will be looking for work as we really need some financial miracles. I will be being wife and mom, and helping keep the boy’s stay on track with homeschool. I will also still be brining leadership to all I have previously been and I will still be doing some traveling, speaking and ministering as the Lord allows me to and it works with the family’s schedule. My heart would be that in time Phillip would be able to do full time ministry with me as well. We are so thankful and amazed by the Lord’s faithfulness to us and our hearts. I have waited for such a long time for this season to come and now the longing of my heart has been fulfilled and I am married to the most incredible man who loves me well. I am so excited about the journey ahead. As we start this new chapter we are in some real need for financial provision! We have some debt from past medical bills, and other things that need taken care of as well as the current things facing us. If you would like to give a year end tax deductible donation you can here. As you plan your giving for this next year would you please pray about becoming a monthly supporter. We are really in need of increasing our monthly support as we establish our family in Southern California and all the ministry the Lord has called us to do there. Praying blessing’s on you this Holiday season and as you all head into 2015. Updates coming soon on all the happenings of the Ward family and all we are apart of.
